The area has been surveyed extensively by staff skilled in croc survey and identification and there is no evidence of a crocodile being present in the area, such as a confirmed sighting, eye-shine, tracks, or slide marks. Given the known range of this species, being north of the Boyne River, near Gladstone, the likelihood of an estuarine crocodile living in the wild in SEQ is extremely low. It is possible that this is a case of mistaken identity and that observers have seen a shark, turtle or dugong. No further action at this time
