Flying-fox roost management evaluation form

The purpose of this evaluation form is to enable the department to record the outcome of authorised flying-fox roost management actions being undertaken in order to improve roost management practices and conservation outcomes for flying-foxes in Queensland. This form also satisfies the requirements of a Return of Operations.

Background and important information

Please note that this form is only for use by:

  • local governments who have undertaken as-of-right management actions in an urban flying-fox management area
  • persons or organisations who have undertaken authorised management actions under a flying-fox roost management permit.

An evaluation form is not required for activities under the Code of practice—Low impact activities.

For all as-of-right management actions by local governments, Section 2.6 of the Code of practice—Ecologically sustainable management of flying-fox roosts requires that the department be sent this Evaluation / Return of Operations form within six weeks of the date of as-of-right management actions being completed. Should the outcome on site not be fully known in this timeframe, further information may be submitted at a later date by emailing wildlife.management@des.qld.gov.au.

For all management actions under a flying-fox roost management permit, the department must be sent this Evaluation / Return of Operations form within 3 months of the management actions being completed.

This form must be submitted for the purposes of evaluating the management actions carried out under one notification form (and for one roost site) only.
