Cape York eastern basins
Cape York eastern basins extend from the Jacky Jacky Basin in the north to the Endeavour and Normanby basins in the south. These basins and Great Barrier Reef coastal waters have recently been the subject of a water quality improvement plan (WQIP) prepared by Cape York Regional NRM Ltd in collaboration with stakeholders.
Not scheduled. Draft materials (reports and maps) were released for comment in 2017, and are now under review. Refer to Policy consultations for more information.
Draft environmental values (EVs), water quality objectives (WQOs) and mapping for Cape York eastern basin and Great Barrier Reef coastal waters are included in the Eastern Cape York Water Quality Improvement Plan (WQIP) prepared by Cape York Regional NRM Ltd. They, along with other information sources, are being used to develop materials for scheduling under the Environmental Protection (Water and Wetland Biodiversity) Policy – the EPP (Water and Wetland Biodiversity).
The Eastern Cape York WQIP website contains the WQIP main report, mapping and relevant supporting technical reports.

The Eastern Cape York WQIP contains draft environmental values, water quality objectives and mapping for the waters of the Cape York eastern basins.
A Guideline on Healthy Waters Management Plans provides more information on the content and process.
Once finalised, spatial datasets for scheduled areas will be available from the Queensland Spatial Catalogue, QSpatial. Search for ‘EPP’.
