Amendments to Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service Protected Areas that were dedicated on 12 February 2021 including Deepwater National Park, Gheebulum Coonungai (Moreton Island) National Park, Halifax Bay Wetlands National Park, Main Range National Park, Mount Walsh National Park, Wilivanngurru National Park, Cape Moreton Conservation Park and Flat Top Range Resources Reserve.

Subordinate Legislation giving effect to the amendments—Subordinate Legislation 2021 No.8.

Amendments to the QPWS Estate Nature Conservation (Protected Areas) Regulation 1994 are administered by the Department of Environment and Science.

Deepwater National Park

Gladstone Regional

Declare an area of unallocated State land described as:

  • lots 1, 2 and 4   on SP143250, containing an area of about 128.252 hectares, as part of the   existing Deepwater National Park.

The new total area of the national park will be about 4,858.252 hectares.

Gheebulum Coonungai (Moreton Island) National Park

Brisbane City

Redescribe the entirety of the national park as:

  • lots 1, 2, 4,   5, 7, 36 and 37 on AP23572, containing an area of about 16,969.8296 hectares,   using contemporary survey and mapping technology and standards.

Rename the national park to:

  • Gheebulum   Coonungai (Moreton Island) National Park

Halifax Bay Wetlands National Park

Hinchinbrook Shire

Declare an area of unallocated State land described as:

  • 1 on AP23635, lots 1 to 3 on AP15629, lots 32 and 35 on plan USL39628, lot 42   on plan CWL666, lots 68, 70 and 71 on plan USL39323, lot 114 on plan CWL2255   and lot 181 on plan AP15628, containing an area of about 3285.8743 hectares, as part of the existing Halifax Bay Wetlands National Park.

Correct an administrative error in the previous area for the national park of 0.0003 hectares.

The new total area of the national park will be about 5,084.277 hectares.

Main Range National Park

Southern Downs Regional

Redescribe the entirety of the national park as:

  • lots 1 to 9 on   AP23636, containing an area of about 34,798.7258 hectares, to correct an   administrative error in the previous area description of the national park of   17.3003 hectares.

Mount Walsh National Park

North Burnett

Dedicate an area of unallocated State land described as:

  • lot 411 on OL283,   containing an area of about 1000 hectares, as part of the existing Mount   Walsh National Park.

Correct an administrative error in the previous area description for the national park of 0.0002 hectares.

The new total area of the national park will be about 11,727.1852 hectares.

Wiliyan-ngurru National Park

Mount Isa City

Rename the existing Camooweal Caves National Park as Wiliyan-ngurru National Park, described as:

  • lot 39 on plan   NPW198, containing an area of about 13,800 hectares.

Cape Moreton Conservation Park

Brisbane City

Redescribe the entirety of the conservation park as:

  • lots 3, 6, 528 and 529 on AP23572,   containing an area of about 3.3283 hectares, using contemporary survey and   mapping technology and standards.

Flat Top Range Resources Reserve

Livingstone Shire

Dedicate an area of unallocated State land described as:

  • lot 100 on   SP143245, containing an area of about 492 hectares, as part of the existing Flat   Top Range Resources Reserve.

The new total area of the resources reserve will be about 3,272 hectares.
