Public consultations

To ensure that its decisions about managing the state's environment and heritage represent a wide range of views and needs, the department encourages all Queenslanders to take part in the consultation process.

These matters are open for public consultation:

  • Please check the Get involved - consultations for public comment and search for the Department of Environment and Science.
  • Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service is accepting public submissions on proposed amendments to Mackay Tourism Ltd’s commercial activity agreement for conducting guided tours of the 'Sunrise with the Wallabies Experience' at Cape Hillsborough beach near Mackay. Comments on the proposal are to be made before 5.00pm 2 May 2019.
  • Submissions on draft end of waste (EOW) code. The department has developed draft EOW code to allow for the use of dunder as a resource. Submissions on this draft EOW code are to be made before 5:00pm on 31 May 2019.
  • Submissions on draft end of waste (EOW) code. The department has developed a draft EOW code to allow for the use of water treatment residuals as a resource. Submissions on this draft EOW code are to be made before 5:00pm on 31 May 2019.
